East Cary Middle School

Ms. Blanchard and Mrs. Oliver will be sponsoring an Algebra Team.  We will choose the top 5 Common Core Math 1 students (4 for a team and 1 alternate) to participate in the Regional Mathematics Competition at Wake Technical College in March.  A qualifying test will be given at the beginning of the 3rd quarter and teacher recommendations will be made in order to determine the team.  We will meet several times after school  and students will also be expected to practice on their own.  Last year was our first year to participate and ECMS came in 5th place!  The students learned a lot in preparation for the event and had fun.
